25 weeks!

What an awesome Christmas!  Got out of work early to head to my hometown before it was dark out, had dinner with my family, opened some gifts, watched the nieces and nephews open our gifts with excitement, traveled around visiting family, and just enjoyed everyone’s company!  Baby was crazy all day on Christmas Eve at work and on the car ride up to Scranton so I knew he was just going to be a lazy bum while at my mother’s house…and he was.  He gave my sister a few rolls to feel which she was super excited about and a tiny little kick.  The next morning my mother was able to feel two huge kicks in a row.  It was awesome.

My mother stalks my pinterest page and found an item that I really wanted to hang on the wall in the nursery and had it made for us.  It’s absolutely perfect.  Over the weekend Joe and I picked out the final piece to the puzzle in the nursery, the shades…so those have been ordered and the painting has progressed.  Everything still needs another coat but I’m hoping by this weekend that all the painting will be done!  We called Burlington to get the status of our furniture order (it’s been 10 weeks since we ordered) and all but one piece is in so I’m supposed to call them back in 1 week if I still haven’t heard anything from them.

I asked my boss about our new office location, if it has been picked yet, since I really need to start looking at day cares and taking tours of the facilities and interviewing the ones who will be taking care of this child when I return to work…it seems like we are most likely going with the one I didn’t want due to traffic, distance, and not having a parking lot so walking in the dark to the office.  I’m not too thrilled about that.  My boss is willing to work with me, though…he suggested working from home two days a week to save on day care bills and my stress levels.  I’d be home Mondays and Fridays and work in the office Tuesday-Thursday.  I like that idea and helps me deal with the office switch a little easier.

Ok – now down to the nitty gritty

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

I can’t believe after so many years that we are finally having a MERRY Christmas.  It feels like year after year has been riddled with broken dreams and disappointment.  Bad news, failed ivf attempts, miscarriages, and a terrifying clotting panel that left me passed out and sore for days.

This year is different.  This year I am happy and full of overwhelming emotion.  This year I can feel my wish coming true with every little kick and roll he does.  This year I have three angels watching over this precious child growing inside me.

I can’t believe we are finally getting everything we wanted.  It feels like a dream I do not want to wake up from.

I wanted to take the time and wish all of you a Merry Christmas.  To those of you just starting your journey to achieve parenthood, to those who have struggled for quite some time, to those who know what it feels like to lose something you yearn for, to those who after heartaches and struggles finally have their dream, and to those who, even though the road to get here wasn’t difficult, love and cherish every moment with their children.  Merry Christmas to you and yours ❤

24 week update!

So this week we hit a huge milestone, VIABILITY!  I’m so amazed at this little man and it gets more amazing every day.  We had an awesome Christmas party for my company and the president finally saw my belly!  It was a great day.  Joe’s birthday was the same day as our party so he got a very expensive free birthday dinner 🙂 lol!  I took him out with some friends on Saturday, though.  All was good.  My bff was there and its always a joy to see her since I’ve known her since 5th grade and she’s my only longtime friend that lives semi-close to me!  We had a re-check on my placenta today and it did move a little but still has a little more to go that they are hopeful will be no issue in 4 weeks on my next scan.  They even gave me a sneak peek at baby boy’s face, although he was being uncooperative lol.  He kept hiding!  It’s ok, he’s still adorable even though we couldn’t the *perfect* position for a picture.  He’s measuring at a very healthy 1lb 10oz which is in the 76th percentile, wow!

Viability

Today is a great day in the life of an infertile.  Not only am I blessed to make it this far in my pregnancy, but also today, at 24 weeks, we have achieved viability.  Words cannot express the joy I feel, nor can it explain how proud I am of this little man.  What a fighter we have ❤

Have a great weekend everyone!  I’ll post an update after my ultrasound on Monday 🙂

23 Weeks

What a week!  I finished my course with an A and am officially on Christmas vacation from school, I met a bunch of people from Joe’s work for his company’s Christmas party who were all thrilled about this pregnancy, and baby boy is becoming so much more active and reactive of sounds and light.  It’s pretty cool.  We learned this week that I have a low lying placenta, right now it is marginal and not considered previa so we are doing a check up scan on the 22nd to make sure the placenta is moving up like they expect it to.  Bonus ultrasounds are nice I’m just hoping that there are no issues and this placenta behaves for me!  I’m scared to death of being cut open!

Total weight gain/loss? 15.5 lbs – right on track!  I’m surprised with Thanksgiving in the mix that this wasn’t a larger number.  Let’s see how Christmas and New Years affects the next one 😉

Gender?   Boy 🙂

Maternity clothes?  Mostly, yes.  Still have a few items that fit with some room!  Wearing a size small dress right now that still has a ton of wiggle room.

Stretch marks?   nope!

Sleep?  When Joe is not snoring ALL NIGHT it is amazing lol

Best moment this week?  I finished my graduate course with an A – effectively maintaining my 4.0 GPA so I have 3 whole weeks of rest from school!  This is break is well needed for me 🙂

Miss anything?   Not really

Movement?  It’s getting to be hilarious – the games, the reaction to voices and light, when I talk about him he knows it and kicks me square in the belly button.  When I smell something delicious he lets me know that he wants me to eat it.  The other day he Spiderman crawled up my abdomen…I cracked up.

Food cravings?  nope

Anything making you queasy or sick?  nope

Symptoms?   Kicking and growing belly 🙂

Labor Signs?  Nope

Belly Button in or out?  In but getting shallow!  If I am following my sister’s time line like I appear to be I expect the belly button to last a few more weeks before it finally pops out.

Wedding rings on or off?  On

Happy or Moody most of the time?   Happy!

Looking forward to?  Friday – Dinner at the Bluebell Inn for my company’s Christmas Party, which lands on Joe’s birthday!  This is my absolute favorite restaurant.  Also, Friday marks a huge milestone for baby – viability.  Super excited.

Update and Rant – 22w6d

Baby boy is doing great – heart rate is still constant at 158, he’s growing normally, I’m gaining weight just as I’m supposed to – almost too perfectly, up 15.5 since the beginning almost 23 weeks ago. I haven’t had any issues, no sickness, no complaints, not too tired, blood pressure is perfect, feeling great and even planning and preparing way ahead of schedule.

Something was bound to go wrong, nothing can be absolutely perfect. I guess this is reality telling me that not everything is in my control and gave me a swift kick to remind me that.

Found out today baby boy has a low lying placenta, it’s not considered privea at this point, just marginal, so I have another ultrasound in 2 weeks to see if it moves upward – in most cases this does happen and I should have nothing to worry about but I am an incessant worrier and this just upset me because there is literally a 0.5% chance it won’t move and just worsen. I guess I just have to be thankful I get to see baby boy on the big screen again soon and just pray that the placenta moves up so as not to cause any complications. I really don’t want to get cut open, it is not part of my plan at all but the only thing that really matters is baby boy is OK.

Any mamas out there have any experience with low lying placenta discovered at anatomy scan and it correcting itself?

Nursery – A work in progress

The nursery is a work in progress – but here are some items that are currently being done.  The chair rail has been installed and the ceiling has been painted ultra white.  We will be using Sherwin Williams durations collection in retiring blue on the top of the chair rail (in fact there is already one coat up and one more coat needed to be applied, and Sherwin Williams durations white below the chair rail.

Chair Rail

^^ This is not my house, lol, just the exact chair rail used in baby’s room.  It is placed higher than the traditional 36″ from the floor – it is 48″ from the floor so it is at a good height from the crib.  The crib we bought has a tall back.

Top Wall Color

Bottom Wall Color

We have already purchased and installed a white ceiling fan for a brighter and younger look in the room

Ceiling Fan

I am currently waiting for this area rug to be delivered, the accessories in the room will be Navy and Gray to go along with the light blue and white walls and deep brown furniture

Rug

These curtains were delivered this week and so was the curtain rod so as soon as the painting is all done and dry I want to put these up 🙂 – the curtains are both energy saving and room darkening.  What a spoiled baby we have already!

Curtains

Curtian Rod

This is the glider and ottoman I picked out – it has not been ordered yet but should be soon.  We need the paint to be finished because we are running out of places to store things

Glider

Here’s the nursery set we ordered over a month ago, the crib is in but we are waiting for the 2 dressers to come in before we pick it all up.  Just imagine this set with white, gray, and navy bedding to go along with the scheme of the room.

barcelona-roomshot

Once the bulk of this is done I have to look at lamps for those late night feedings and a few wall decorations.  I did purchase a mattress for the crib already as well, a Sealy, and some white sheets so that when the furniture is in and set up I can see what it really looks like when it is all put together!

I’m getting antsy for this all to be done.  I’m hoping the paint doesn’t take too much longer or I may just go crazy!  It’s hard working on the room when our weekends are packed and I’m of no help doing school work all night – Joe only has an hour or two each night to make sure everything is perfect and he started with making sure the whole room was properly insulated so baby can stay nice and warm in his room ❤

I’ll post pictures after everything is done but for now I wanted to share most of my vision for our nursery for our miracle baby!
